Demo / Prototype Terms
Last updated: 30 September 2026
We often build an initial demo or prototype without an upfront development fee. These terms explain how that works, so expectations are clear on both sides.
1. Eligibility
- Demo-first is offered only for enquiries we have reviewed and accepted. We decide, at our discretion, whether an enquiry is suitable.
- Subject to project scope and suitability; it is not available for every project.
2. Scope
- We define and limit the scope of the demo. Its purpose is to show the approach and our ability.
- We are not obliged to make unlimited changes or additional versions of a free demo.
3. Nature of a demo
- A demo is not production-ready software. It may be incomplete and may not be secure or scalable enough for real use.
- It uses simulated, synthetic or test data by default. Please do not provide real customer data, credentials or sensitive information.
- We give no availability commitment or service level (SLA) for demos, and may take one offline at any time.
- It must not be used for real business operations unless we agree otherwise in writing.
4. Original work and references
Examples or links you share are used as inspiration and to understand your needs. We build original work and will not copy another party’s code, design, content, trademarks or branding. You confirm that anything you supply to us is yours to share.
5. No obligation
You are under no obligation to continue or buy anything after seeing a demo.
6. Moving to production
- Production development requires a separate written agreement covering scope, price, timeline, support and delivery.
- Source code, intellectual property and licensing are agreed clearly before production work begins. Until then, all rights in the demo remain with us.
7. Third-party costs
Costs of third parties — such as hosting, domain names, licensed software and paid APIs — are not covered by us by default and will be discussed with you in advance.
8. Abuse of the model
We may decline or stop work on requests that appear to abuse the demo-first model, for example repeated requests for free work with no genuine intention to proceed.
